That is the one word I would use to describe my experience in the KRI Level One Kundalini Yoga and Meditation Teacher Training at Kundalini Rising Yoga in Nashville, TN. I entered the training with the intention of deepening my practice, being immersed in study and obtaining a certification, but I emerged with true connection to my soul, my spirituality and my purpose. The seven months during the program were filled with reading, personal yoga and meditation practices and projects. The program demands intense, focused work that really taught me the essence of being a student; a quality I learned is essential for a potential teacher. The journey culminated with a beautiful and emotion-filled graduation ceremony that can only be described as a new beginning; as the effects of the practices and experiences during the training have since unfolded many more lessons and layers in my life.
The richness of the training also provided the impetus for lifelong friendships and community with my fellow trainees. I felt the calling to this training long before I did it, always finding a reason why it wasn’t the right time or telling myself that I didn’t have the resources. I discovered the magic of this teacher training is that it will act as an alchemist in your life.
If you commit to being fully dedicated to participating, then circumstances will unfold to allow you to become your best self, to discover your true self, to live your “Sat Nam.”

The KRI Level One Aquarian Teacher Training Program is a 220-hour professional certification program in Kundalini Yoga as taught by Yogi Bhajan ®. An interactive course in the theory, practice, and basic skills of a Kundalini Yoga instructor, it includes 180 hours of classroom instruction and 40 hours of independent study: service projects, a 40-day meditation, and White Tantric Yoga. Graduates of Level One earn the title of KRI Certified Instructor of Kundalini Yoga as taught by Yogi Bhajan® and fulfill the Yoga Alliance RYT (Registered Yoga Teacher) 200-hour requirement.
Foundations introduces the student to the principles and practices of the self-sensory human, and explores how Kundalini Yoga and yogic lifestyle can harmonize and uplift the human experience and awaken your true potential.
Yogi Bhajan, Master of Kundalini Yoga, arrived in the USA in 1969 with a mission: “I have come to create teachers, not to gather students.” Since then his teaching of Kundalini Yoga, the yoga of awareness, took him around the world to share, teach, and uplift humanity. He founded 3HO-the Healthy, Happy, Holy Organization, which is based on his first principle, “Happiness is your birthright.” Through the Aquarian Teacher Program, Yogi Bhajan has trained thousands of KRI Certified Teachers. In 1994, the International Kundalini Yoga Teachers Association, (IKYTA), was formed to further spread these priceless teachings through the united efforts of Kundalini Yoga teachers worldwide.
The Aquarian Teacher Program is the KRI Level 1 Certification program in Kundalini Yoga as taught by Yogi Bhajan.
