A veteran of the music industry, Mari Dew began practicing yoga in 1998 in LA. Given a job that involved steady travel, the flexibility of yoga and the ability to take it on the road made it ideal. Yoga became a calming escape from the stress of the business.
Mari has explored many types of yoga, from Hatha to Ashtanga to Iyengar to Bikram to Vinyasa flow, but is was the discovery of the DVD Kundalini Yoga with Gurmukh in 2001 that cemented her connection to yoga. She elaborates, "I was intrigued by the deep connection to the breath, the prana and different techniques for breathing, and the idea of coordinating breath with movement. I also loved the idea of turning the focus within to the third eye point in order to increase awareness. I was hooked."
Her career has taken her around the continent over the last couple decades, from Dallas to LA to Atlanta to Toronto to Traverse City, Michigan, but Mari always had a special place in her heart for Nashville, where she spent her rookie year as a record label rep in 1994 and bought her first house. When the opportunity to take her 200-hour YogaWorks teacher training
Inspired with a calling to serve, one might consider Candyce to be a doula of life's evolving passages. A Doula, coming from the ancient Greek meaning "a woman who serves", is one who offers physical & emotional support via providing nurturing guidance and information to birthing women. In these ever evolving times, experience lends that nurture and support play a vital role from day to day; from the smallest to the greatest of life's rituals. Passionate in her role of serving many women as a doula in the process of childbirth, Candyce eventually found herself in a Kundalini yoga class. Realizing the immense benefits of this practice, and eager to deepen her own practice, Candyce ventured on to complete her KRI certification in Kundalini Yoga; the perfect compliment to her passion for serving. Having been gifted a priceless education, orchestrated by the experience of motherhood, Candyce found herself learning, from her two wonderful daughters, the unique challenges of the changing times that seem to engulf and segregate our coming generations with a growing gap that requires a deeper, stronger sense of self & renewal. Desiring to support efforts to bridge this gap with compassion and the tools that Kundalini yoga provides, she aspires to one day have the ability to bring Kundalini yoga to our youth centers, schools and perhaps even to our juvenile systems and psychiatric hospitals. Moving away from outdated suppressants and fear, into a realm of sustainability through inspiration and courage to access our greatest potential with one another as well as with the environment that supports us. Thereby, giving our children the ability to realize their internal compass and technology that can help to navigate

came up, Mari packed up and moved back to Nashville and never looked back.Mari received her teaching certification in the Summer of 2013 Rock My Yoga, like Mari, is still a work in progress that develops and began teaching some traditional yoga classes, but her heart kept coming back to the Kundalini-inspired Rock My Yoga routine
she had developed over her years on the road. She presented the sequence to her teacher and mentor, Crystelle Brown at Kundalini Rising Yoga, who graciously offered to let her teach it as a new class at the studio. Rock My Yoga classes officially began in January 2014. with each week's class. It is a a high energy sequence, inspired by Kundalini Yoga and set to a soundtrack that rocks. Breath is coordinated with movement and third eye focus to create a moving meditation, a graceful expression that fuses mind, body and spirit. Once the routine is familiar, the idea is to LET GO and let the music absorb you.
"The goal of Rock My Yoga is to awaken the inner rock god or rock goddess within each student and empower him/her to go out and conquer any obstacles…mental or physical," says Mari, "and I hope my students will take away a sense of inner peace, strength and confidence from the class."

After receiving a bachelors degree in Fine Arts from Belmont University in 2000, Crystelle knew she had to answer her soul's calling to serve humanity on a deeper level. While studying various forms of healing, searching for that 'soul-calling', she experienced her first Kundalini Yoga class and immediately knew that it was something quite exceptional. She soon earned her basic Kundalini Yoga certification through KRI (The Kundalini Research Institute) and has since gone on to complete several years of advanced training through KRI's Aquarian Teacher Training program as well as the Dancing Spider teacher training in children's yoga.
Crystelle taught for three years in local studios before opening Kundalini Rising Yoga over six years ago. Deeply dedicated to serving humanity during these changing times, Crystellefeels that the over 5,ooo year old sacred science of Kundalini Yoga is a tool specifically designed for this time-- to help support us in gracefully navigating, and living our best lives through self-empowerment. Humbled by the experience of this technology and it's power to profoundly transform, self-empower, self-initiate, and heal, she became dedicated to sharing it with others fully from her heart.
Brenda’s first experience with Kundalini Yoga nearly 7 years ago was the opening of a door into a vast new world. “I remember feeling as though I had taken this huge energetic breath, one that I had been waiting a very long time to take. I felt a wholeness in this practice - the bringing together of the physical body, the breath, the mind, emotions, and spirit resonated deeply within me. I knew I wanted to continue to explorer this new world, this beautiful technology. The practice can be challenging at times, and yet it is within those challenges that I have found the greatest movements in a positive direction, a greater opening to that which is within.”Brenda received her 200 hour Level I Teacher Training Certification in March 2012 and is currently continuing her training and education for her Level II Certification. She has found the experience of this practice, and that of teaching it to others, to be life changing. Brenda looks forward to sharing her passion for this practice, and to providing an open and safe space to allow others to have their own experience with this wonderful technology.
